A Community-Based Social Enterprise

The common roof ™ is a community-based social enterprise providing sustainable and professional workspace for human-service not-for-profit organizations.

We partner with other organizations and rely on the generosity of individuals, community groups and corporations to provide the funding and in-kind resources necessary to support our facility, human-service partner tenants, and the 10,000 plus annual clients that are served.

With your help, The common roof ™ can continue to assist our very special, deserving clients: children, youth and young families living within the Simcoe County community

Corporate Partners

Corporate Partners work with The common roof ™ to help brighten the lives of children, youth and young families across Simcoe County. These donations and initiatives have long-term, sustainable impacts for all involved.

New Path Foundation O/A The Common Roof

As of September 28th, 2022 we began to use The Common Roof as our organization's operating name. While we are proud of our history as the New Path Foundation, this name change will allow us to focus more on our work through a social purpose lens and continue to build community - in facilities we operate or out in the communities we are privileged to work within.

New Path Foundation was established in 1996 as a public foundation governed by a volunteer Board of Directors to serve as a link between donors, charitable interests and the vital needs of children, youth and families.

Through developing, managing and mobilizing community philanthropic investment, we work tirelessly to achieve our mission and help to build the capacity of organizatons through our common roof shared space locations and in community.

Children's Treatment Network

Children’s Treatment Network (CTN) builds brighter futures together for almost 20,000 children and youth with special needs in their homes, communities and schools. Funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS), its clients have a variety of diagnoses and needs including learning disabilities, autism, developmental, neurological and physical disabilities. CTN works with a network of private and public service partners in the health education and community sectors. Its shared electronic record serves as the primary tool that enables integrated service for children with multiple needs and provides an online service referral portal for children needing school-based rehabilitation services. CTN provides programs and services through four key streams:

  • Diagnostic and Medical Consultation Services – helping kids get the diagnostic services they need. Developmental Assessment and Consultation Services (DACS) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Diagnostic Hub for Central Region (serving Simcoe, York, Dufferin, Halton, Peel, Waterloo and Wellington)

  • School-Based Rehabilitation Services – ensuring that children with rehabilitation needs (occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech-language pathology) are able to attend school, participate in school activities and receive instruction (serving Muskoka, Simcoe, York and Central Toronto)

  • Specialized Clinical and Rehabilitation Services – providing children with multiple special needs access to rehabilitation services and specialty clinics based on their needs (serving York and Simcoe)

  • Service Navigation, Brief Resource Support and Coordinated Service Planning – a continuum of support that connects children, youth and families with community support and information and development of a coordinated, integrated service plan for our most complex families (serving York and Simcoe)

  • Simcoe County Resource Consultation Services, a program of CLH (Community Living Huronia) Developmental Support Services, is a part of CTN (Children’s Treatment Network) (through Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital).
