Common Roof members, staff, Board of Directors and community members recently gathered at the Collingwood Common Roof and Rotary Hub (CCRRH) for the organization's Annual General Meeting (AGM) and a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open A Home for Our Hardworking Pollinators garden.

The AGM provided an opportunity to reflect on the achievements and impact realized over the past year. Attendees heard updates on organizational priorities, celebrated successes, and discussed future opportunities to strengthen support for the organizations that call the Common Roof home.

A special part of the celebration included recognizing several dedicated individuals for their longstanding commitment and contributions:

  • Roger and Maureen were recognized for 20 years of service

  • Stacey was recognized for 15 years of service

  • Benjamin and Karen were recognized for 5 years of service

These milestones represent years of commitment that have helped strengthen the Common Roof community. We extend our heartfelt thanks and congratulations to each recipient for their invaluable contributions.

Prior to the meeting, attendees participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the official opening of A Home for Our Hardworking Pollinators garden at the CCRRH. Thanks to a generous $6,000 grant from TD Friends of the Environment Foundation, this garden transformed the entrance to the building into a vibrant native pollinator garden and Monarch Waystation. This garden has been thoughtfully designed with native plant species that will provide essential habitat and food sources for pollinators such as bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and many other beneficial insects that play such a critical role in our ecosystem.

As guests explored the garden and participated in the ribbon-cutting, the event underscored the connection between cultivating healthy environments and fostering strong, resilient communities.

The evening was a celebration of accomplishments, partnerships, service, and growth. The Common Roof extends its sincere thanks to everyone who attended, contributed, and continues to support our shared vision of creating vibrant communities where people, organizations, and nature can thrive together.
